I set a goal for myself a few years ago to start doing things to improve myself inside and out. One of the things wanted to do in my journey of self-improvement was to restore my hair. Seoul Medical Guide and Root Hair Clinic helped me achieve this goal with confidence, ease, and medically positive results. I began my journey online through Seoul Medical Guide, which connected me with Sam. Sam was my go-to person for all information regarding Root Hair Clinic. They provided me with all the necessary details before I made my journey from the US to South Korea for the procedure. Upon arriving in South Korea, I had a final consultation with Zahid, the clinic manager, who translated everything between me and Dr. Lee Yun Joo. The doctor took the time to answer all my questions and did not make me feel rushed, which was very reassuring. Zahid, from the surgery going forward, was my point of contact for any questions. He was very kind and patient and always got back to me in a timely manner with any inquiries. On the day of the surgery, the only painful part was the anesthesia shot. I had prepared for it by reading other people's reviews, and I would compare the pain to going to the dentist and getting a shot of Novocaine in the gums before a procedure. It was a slight pinch and uncomfortable, but tolerable. After a minute or two, it was completely numb, and I felt nothing. I’m currently two weeks post-op and just got my stitches taken out. The surgery I had was a FUT/FUE combo to get the maximum amount of hair possible. I was so nervous about having this procedure, but I’m so thankful to Seoul Medical Guide, Root Hair Clinic, Sam, Zahid, Dr. Lee Yun Joo, and their whole team for taking such good care of me and putting all my nerves at ease. I don’t regret my decision to go on this journey one bit. I have other things lined up for myself through Seoul Medical Guide for this winter, so I look forward to while I’m back in South Korea to stop back and see Zahid and give an in-person update on my hair growth. Update: It has now been over 6 months since my surgery and I decided to add a before and after photo to show my results Latest update as of 07-18-2025: It’s been 1 year since I’ve had my surgery. My hair transplant experience was pleasant, and the procedure went smoothly. Although the process took several hours, the staff was kind and professional throughout. The doctor was friendly and knowledgeable. It has been two months since my surgery, and while I am still in the awkward phase, I am excited about the new growth.

In December, I underwent an FUE hair transplant at Root Hair Clinic, which surpassed all expectations. The procedure was painless, thanks to their skilled team and advanced technology. The doctor was experienced and reassuring, guiding me through each step with ease. The staff, including the English team led by Zahid, was warm, attentive, and dedicated, ensuring a comfortable experience from start to finish. Zahid, in particular, was very friendly and put a lot of effort into ensuring everything went well. The most discomfort I can think of was the injection to numb the scalp, which lasted maybe 20 seconds. It was very mild. Aftercare was pretty simple. Although it was only a few months ago, I don't remember much besides being gentle when cleaning the graft and donor area. In South Korea, language barriers aren't a big deal. Many speak English, and there are translation apps and helpful locals if you need to communicate in Korean. Getting around and interacting is usually easy, even if you're not fluent! As someone from North America, friends and family might express worry due to their exposure to news, which tends to sensationalize the political situation with North Korea. However, it is like background noise. South Koreans are used to occasional tensions, and with their focus on daily life and development, it's more of a nuisance than a real concern. Just thought I might mention this because it was a worry before leaving home, but was quashed a few days upon arrival. Overall, Root Hair Clinic provided exceptional care, making the hair transplant process smooth and efficient. I highly recommend them to anyone considering such a procedure. I found out about Root Hair Transplant Clinic through google searching, and I thought I would reach out to them from their reviews and their website. I got a hairline transplant using FUE5000. The whole process was very smooth and fairly easy. I messaged them through their website and was able to get a quick reply back. They provided me with the needed guidelines and informations. In total, I visited the clinic three times. First, to get an initial consultation done where I meet with the doctor to discuss what kind of hairline I would like and what they would recommened. Then the next day was the surgery day. For me, it took my about 5h to finish everything. Just make sure you have someone with you so they can come pick you up after your surgery day as you might be a little loopy from the anesthesia. Then I visited the clinic again the day after the surgery for the doctor to check the hair, and for the bandages to be taken off the hair donor area, and teaching to be done on washing and maintaining cleanliness on both the donor and grafted area. It's now been a little more than 2 weeks since my surgery, the back of my head where the hair was donated is feeling fine now, and the front grafted area is spiky and has a lot of dandruff but I guess that's just a part if the process since you can't touch them yet. Overall I am happy with the result so far and look forward to seeing how my hairline looks in 6 months to a year. I havent done too much research on hair transplant clinics, but this one was nice and the process went smoothly so I would recommend this to anyone else who is thinking of getting a hairline transplant done in Korea. Also if you worried about communication difficulties, there is a translator that you talk to throughout the whole process as well as at the clinic when you are with the staff. Good luck to everyone!

Travelled from abroad for my hair transplant (4000 hairs FUT) with all initial contact through Seoul Guide Medical. I chose to have my consultation and surgery on the same day at my request (do not recommend, allow yourself some time to think and process consultation information!). Doctor suggested I was a better candidate for FUT rather than FUE, of which I was set on, due to my naturally thin and very blonde hair (likely more follicles to be damaged in extraction process meaning more follicle extraction required). This took me by surprise but the doctor and everyone else were extremely supportive and provided plenty of information on this procedure and still the option to proceed with FUE. I had no pressure placed on me, allowing me time to think and make a decision (I did proceed with FUT and so glad I did!). I was accommodated well during the entire procedure ensuring I was comfortable and free from pain, with Zahid translating and checking on how I was regularly. The doctor and nurses were very comforting and professional, during all steps of the procedure. After care was fantastic. Pharmacy is next door for convenience and instructions are given both verbally and written (there's a lot to take in so very grateful for that!). I had regular check ins via Whatsapp up to 2 weeks after the procedure with any questions I asked answered quickly and with plenty of information. Extremely happy with the overall procedure from start to finish. From initial communication, consultation, procedure to after care, Root Hair Clinic exceeded my expectations. My husband will be using this clinic for his hair transplant in the near future and I'll be sure to recommend to anyone else looking for a hair transplant!
